In our municipality, the Health Department was established on September 10, 1977, after the administrative political division, sharing the premises with the Pedro Betancourt polyclinic. Its director, Dr. Antonio Castillo Guzmán. This is stated in the file of the Municipal Assembly of the People's Power of Pedro Betancourt, who was in charge at that time of Juan Gastón Chacón, appears in the Second Ordinary Session of the Municipal Assembly of the People's Power held on January 8, 1977 , Agreement No. 11/17 was adopted, which approves the administrative structure of the Municipal Directorates, Functional, Secretarial, and Companies, among which is the Municipal Directorate of Public Health.
