FUNCTIONS
1. Prepare the draft annual plan and medium-term projections for the economy as a whole, as well as the measures to be taken to comply with it.
2. Prepare, with the participation of the corresponding State Organizations, the economic strategy and propose it to the Government.
3. Enforce the instructions and methodological regulations on planning.
4. Control compliance with plans, as well as the progress of the economy.
5. Direct the preparation of proposals on the improvement of the economic management and planning system and the business management system, as well as economic contracting.
6. Prepare the balance sheets and exercise control over the execution and use of fuel, electricity, food, construction materials and other resources essential to the economy.
7. Supervise the National Energy Policy, as well as the efficient use of all energy carriers.
8. Supervise the country's Food Policy and control its execution.
9. Participate in the elaboration of social policies and comprehensively evaluate the effect on the population and the economy.
10. Supervise the rules that regulate the investment process, implement its application and control its execution.
11. Participate in the formulation of the development and promotion of exports and import substitution.
12. Carry out studies and proposals aimed at achieving the comprehensive development of the territories
13. Participate in coordination with the Ministry of Finance and Prices in the preparation of the State budget.
