The sixth storm of the 2021 hurricane season, Fred, could soon form from an atmospheric disturbance over the eastern Caribbean Sea.
The flow on the south side of a high-pressure subtropical ridge carries the system to the west-northwest, that is, the disturbance is being carried away by an anticyclone located to the north.
The vertical wind shear is not strong for the moment; this favors development. Dry air in the middle levels of the troposphere can interfere. The meteorological phenomenon will be moving over warm surface waters. Waters with a temperature of 29 degrees Celsius.
Fred must affect the islands of Puerto Rico and Hispaniola during Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
