
The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, held on Tuesday a telephone conversation with the general secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Nguyen Phu Trong, an expression of personal attention and high priority that the leaders of both nations give to the special and close ties of friendship and cooperation that unite us.
The top Vietnamese party leader, after recognizing the efforts and measures we have adopted to implement the agreements derived from the 8th. Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba, ratified the invariable support of Vietnam and solidarity with our country.
Comrade Díaz-Canel, for his part, addressed the current situation in Cuba, while denouncing the opportunism of the US government and its disinformation campaign aimed at undermining the constitutional order. The also First Secretary of the Party highlighted the special and exemplary relationship between the peoples, parties and governments of Cuba and Vietnam, guided by the imperishable legacy of Fidel, Raúl and Ho Chi Minh. Likewise, he thanked the Vietnamese permanent solidarity with the Cuban Revolution.
In the current context of confrontation with COVID-19, both leaders agreed that there is potential to continue expanding the exchange and strengthening bilateral collaboration in the health and biotechnology sectors, including Cuban vaccines, an undeniable example of the vocation humanist of both nations and that the response to the call for cooperation and solidarity that these times demand is possible.
