With the aim of combating behaviors of indiscipline and lack of control from the implementation of the monetary regulation, the Extraordinary Official Gazette number 8 published Decree-Law 30 that establishes severe amounts of between five thousand and 15 thousand pesos for rate violations and prices.
In Plenary 108 of the National Council of the Cuban Workers' Central (CTC), held on Saturday virtually from the capital, Vladimir Reguerio Ale, First Deputy Minister of Finance and Prices, said that this regulation updates all regulations to combat infringements of prices for services and products, both wholesale and retail.
The sanctions came into force this Friday and are applied to both state entities and individuals, as well as the imposition of fines, confiscation and forced sale, depending on the severity of the event.
This regulation considers as abusive prices those whose growth is above a reasonable range and speculative those fixed to products, essentially those of first necessity and linked to repurchase or resale operations.
Amounts of five thousand and seven thousand pesos will be imposed on those who do not expose the values of the different commercial activities by means of a tablet, letter or menu.
In the same way, merchants who lack parts or accessories of their merchandise will be punished with identical amounts, and also those who offer services that affect their quality.
Violators of the approved rates will be sanctioned with fines of eight thousand and 10 thousand pesos, as well as people who retain, reserve, postpone or do not put up for sale products intended for retail marketing to the population.
For its part, the provision punishes with severe amounts of 12 thousand to 15 thousand pesos to citizens who do not rectify their errors after being sanctioned.
Reguerio Ale emphasized that labor groups should be more rigorous in their comprehensive work with the authorities that face this type of crime, which affects the performance of the state and non-state sector.
The norm endorses the efforts made by local governments in the control and confrontation of infractions related to the implementation of the monetary regulation.
